 History of Cycle Center of Denton
In the early 1960's Leon Pratt established the first Honda Motorcycle dealership in Denton, Texas. Over the years he also carried BMW, Triumph and Yamaha franchises. In June 1969 Larry Wilson acquired the Honda franchise and started his business known as Action Imports. During those years Action Imports acquired the Kawasaki and Polaris lines of products. Mr. Wilson also moved the business to several different areas of Denton during this time. Anyone who rode a motorcycle or atv during these years knew Larry Wilson as the friendly local dealer. Eventually in August 1986 Mr. Wilson built a new 10,000 square foot building and relocated the business on Interstate 35E between Teasley Lane
and Ft. Worth Drive on the service road where the business still resides today.
In June of 1996 after operating the business for some twenty-seven years Mr. Wilson decided it was time to hang it up and go riding! He sold the business to its current owners, who renamed the business "Cycle Center of Denton". Later that year the new owners brought in the Suzuki and E-Ton lines of products and continues to offer it's customers excellent products and customer service. | |
